Hi, I’m Missy — a devoted follower of Jesus, proud wife and mama to three beautiful wild kiddos: Luke, Lily, and Loretta.
Photography started as my creative outlet — something that filled my bucket in the middle of the beautiful, messy rhythm of motherhood. Somewhere between chasing little feet through the house and soaking in the golden Oklahoma sunsets, I realized my camera had become more than a hobby. It had become my way of holding onto the moments God gives us before they slip quietly into memory.
I was born and raised in the wide-open heart of Oklahoma, where the land runs deep with history and heritage. My roots trace back to Cherokee ancestors, and the stories of this land have always lived in my heart. After high school, life took me west to the mountains of Colorado, where I spent nearly a decade exploring big skies, wild places, and learning to slow down and appreciate the beauty in everyday moments.
But eventually, my heart called me home.
Oklahoma isn’t just where I’m from — it’s part of who I am. The red dirt roads, the open skies, the quiet strength of this land. Coming back home is what led to the creation of Native Roots Photography — a name that honors where I come from and the life I’m building with intention, faith, and gratitude.
These days, you’ll usually find me with my camera in one hand and a kiddo on my hip. Motherhood has taught me just how fast time moves. One day your babies fit perfectly in your arms, and the next they’re running ahead of you. The little moments — the laughter, the chaos, the quiet in-between — those are the ones that matter most.
That’s what I want to capture for you.
Not stiff poses or perfect smiles, but the real stuff — the way your kids cling to your legs, the way your partner looks at you when you’re not paying attention, the warmth of the sun on your shoulders during a quiet moment together.
Because photography, to me, is more than pictures.
It’s storytelling.
It’s memory keeping.
It’s pressing pause on the life God is blessing you with right now.
And it would be an honor to help tell your story.

Photography, for me, is sacred. It’s how we remember the faces we miss, the seasons we loved, and the life we’ve lived. It’s storytelling in still form. And I can’t wait to help you tell yours.
